Company History

In 1987 Hod Cooper, a heavy equipement operator founded Cooper Engineering. Initially the company was in the business of renting heavy equipment to other contractors. "I was in a position to see that I could fulfill a need within the industry". The majority of the firm's clients were roadway construction companies. The firm's founder realized that not only did his clients need to utilize his equipment; they also needed skilled labor to operate it. Soon the company had evolved into a barrier wall construction contractor and subsequently a fully integrated concrete paving contractor. "We were a heavy equipment rental company serving highway contractors so I was deeply involved in the highway construction business from the very beginning." According to Hod Cooper, "Our company has always been involved with freeway and roadway related work, progressing into the role of a concrete wall and roadway paving contractor was the next rational progression." Today the halmark of Cooper Engineering is that it seeks to be on the leading edge of emerging advances in equipment, technology and process improvement. "A perfec example is our acquistion of the exclusive rights to the patented SlipStone system." Unlike others in our industry we see our business more like a technology company. Cooper Engineering's focus on research and development has made it one of the most innovative and admired businesses in the Concrete industry.
